Segment 12:  Melissa DeMonico-Tapia has a lot of fun in her position as Director of Sales for Fairplex So Cal in Pomona, CA.  Perhaps best known as the Event and Entertainment Center that hosts the annual L.A. County Fair every September, John Donovan and I were surprised to discover during our podcast at the IFFS how much filmming is actually done on the site’s 543 acres.  Since the property is privately owned, there are no additional fees and the only permits required are from the L.A. County Fire Department.  “Seabiscuit” and “Die Hard” are among the movies that have already taken advantage of what the Fairplex has to offer.  An IFFS sponsor, find out about all the production options available to filmmakers from Fairplex and why Melissa believes that the L.A. County Fair has “something for everyone” in this Filmmakers Notebook Interview.  For additional information visit their website at www.fairplex.com.
