Segment 13:  Now in its 4th season Flyway Film Festival in Pepin, WI has been building a solid reputation as the type of place where both filmmakers and movie fans alike can gather, mingle and watch quality films.  One of the reasons for the Festival’s growing success is Director Rick Vaicius, who John Donovan and I had the fun of interviewing for this Filmmakers Notebook Podcast during IFFS.  One of the reasons the Festival has been attracting so much postitive attention is because of Rick’s consistent promotion of the event using social media.  In fact, I felt like I knew Rick already when met up at Planet Hollywood because we’ve been following each other on Twitter for some time now.  The Festival has also been the topic of filmmakers with blogs including Julie Keck and Jessica King of King Is A Fink and Jay Cheel.  Recounting some of the steps he’s taken to develop these types of contacts, Rick offered filmmakers sage advice on how to build a solid base online as well as other tips and information during our talk.  For more details about the Festival go to their website at www.flywayfilmfest.org and follow Rick on Twitter @FlywayFilmFest.
