One company that is making its mark on  the indie filmmaking front you may not be familiar with is IndieVest  (www.indievest.com), an independent film studio and financier.  The company has been building a network community of high-net-worth individuals working together to achieve the common goal of producing top-tier feature films with guaranteed theatrical distribution.  Realizing the growing demand for independent films, IndieVest is uniting qualified moviemakers with an independent film studio and specialized film financier and has formed an experienced team familiar with every phase of filmmaking including development, production, marketing and distribution.  In addition, they’ve recently negotiated a home entertainment output deal with Vivendi Entertainment.  While IndieVest will continue dealing with theatrical distribution, VOD, TV, DVD, and digital and mobile rights for their titles will be handled by Vivendi.

IndieVest Pictures, the film studio component of the enterprise, was launched in 2007 with the intention of completely developing film projects in the $4-$8 million dollar range.  Basing its selections on a number of elements, such as whether top tiered talent is attached, the script is well developed with an interesting cast of characters, setting and/or point of view and also whether the story is capable of resonating with an audience., IndieVest believes will lead to making quality productions.

CEO and founder Wade H. Bradley is capably supported by seasoned professionals including President of Production, Mark Burton, the Executive Producer of “Water” and VP of Development, Mike Wall, who is perhaps best known for his work at New Line Cinema and Universal Pictures and as Co-Founder of Rogue Pictures.  IndieVest also has an impressive Indie Insider Advisory Board including actor Don Cheadle and Actor/Director/Writer Live Schreiber.  The company is currently preparing for the February release of “Saint John of Las Vegas” starring Steve Buscemi and Sarah Silverman, which had its world premiere last June during the CineVegas Film Festival.  If you’re interested in independent film production, IndieVest is definitely worth getting to know, whether you’re a potential community member or a filmmaker.
