Film Short: “The Resurrection of Serious Rogers”

A lot of discussions on Twitter recently have involved methods that independent filmmakers are using in order to fund, market and distribute their own projects.  One website, which has successfully helped producers in these areas, is IndieGoGo and they released a very well done pitch video this week featuring director Angelo Bell.  Seeking funding for his latest feature, an action thriller called “The Resurrection of Serious Rogers”, Angelo delivers an effective presentation aimed at potential donors providing details about the project and his need to quickly raise $2500 for production costs.  Pay special attention to the sense of urgency he creates and to the enticing special sponsorship package he’s currently offering including a copy of the step-by-step self distribution plan he’s going to use to market the movie with.

    HI Patty,
Thanks for doing a piece on the Resurrection of Serious Rogers – an project on IndieGoGo. Pitch clips are certainly important as you point out.

Also, I just wanted to clarify that it was Angelo Bell who created and posted the pitch video (not IndieGoGo. We’re just the platform.) Nice job, Angelo!

IndieGoGo is a funding platform for projects. Anyone can post their project, and all the tools are there for them to reach out to fans and mobilize them into funders.

Thanks for showcasing people and projects who are making it happen!

    Hi Danae:

Thanks fo the clarification regarding the pitch video. I also believe that Angelo Bell did a wonderful job and that others out there can learn a great deal from him. Also thanks for the great help and assistance IndieGoGo has been offering to filmmakers. It’s made a big difference to many who are utilizing your site.

    Regards,

    Patty

  3. Angelo Bell Says:

Thanks Danae and Patty for your good and kind words. I would only add that there is a definite benefit to starting your funding efforts VERY early in the process. As early as when the script is complete is preferable.

Thanks Indiegogo for the wonderful platform. I’ll be posting my pitch for my horror-thriller “Shadowkeepers” very very soon (I hope to shoot it this summer)

    Hi Angelo:

You’re welcome Angelo and I welcome all of your observations with regards to filmmaking. In fact, when you’re ready to move ahead with “Shadowkeepers” I’d enjoy interviewing you or having you write some tips for filmmakers about your process that I can post here.

    Cheers,

    Patty
