My name is Patty Fantasia and during the past few years, I’ve begun to explore a lifelong passion I’ve had with filmmaking. It began as a flirtation, taking occasional screenwriting courses, then became an ongoing relationship when I joined MeetUp groups and now it’s a full blown love affair. I’ve found myself traveling to L.A. this past year to attend numerous seminars and conferences specifially pertaining to the business aspects of the industry, particularly in the areas of finance and distribution. Although I’m only a novice I’ve acquired a good deal of knowledge in a fairly short amount of time, so I’ve decided to launch this blog as a way of sharing what I’ve learned with others.
Filmmakers Notebook will concentrate on offering links and articles related to screenwriting, producing, directing, financing, marketing and distribution. One thing I’ve learned the hard way is that the true road to failure lies in not taking the risk of pursuing your creative goals. Even the most successful people have been nervous or can look back at a time when they were afraid they wouldn’t make it. Knowledge and persistence are key when you’re trying to find the strength to keep dreaming. No one can do it for you, but hopefully, Filmmakers Notebook will be able to offer interesting resources for the journey.
